Tech for a Greener Tomorrow: Hackathon for Sustainable Solutions

Schedule:

Mon, 4th Sep


  • Register for the Intro Webinar, which kicks off the event at 17:00.


  • Teams will be assigned immediately after the Intro Webinar and announced in the Slack channel

  • Create your team Slack channel, & connect with your team and facilitator.


Tue 5th Sep


  • Join the Special panel webinar with the SODA, CI and Special Guests on Tuesday, 5th Sep @ 6pm Register Here

  • Set up your team page in the Hackathon app, project board, workspaces etc.

  • Nominate Scrum Master

  • Plan your project, project management and dividing up of tasks.

  • Deploy as early as you can to avoid issues later

  • Update Hackathon App team page (team name, project name, banner, logo, description etc.)



Wed/Thur/Fri, 6th, 7th, 8th


  • Each team member dedicates a minimum of 3-5 hours per day to working in sprints on solo tasks, chatting
    with, connecting and working together as a team.

  • Continuous deployment



Sat, 9th - In Person Event


  • 7am - 7:45am 👉Breakfast, Registration & Networking

  • 7:45am - 8am 👉Welcome, Wifi & Agenda

  • 8am - 10am 👉Hacking begins

  • 10am - 10:20am 👉Break

  • 10:20am - 12:30pm 👉Hacking continues

  • 12:30pm - 1:30pm 👉Lunch

  • 1:30pm - 3:30pm 👉Last Sprint

  • 3:30pm - 3:45pm 👉Break

  • 3:45pm - 5pm 👉Hacking ends

  • 5pm - 6pm 👉Presentations-Board Room (2-3 minutes to present)

  • 6pm - 6:30pm 👉Winner Announcement - Prize & Giveaway

  • 6:30pm - 7:30pm 👉Dinner, Drinks & Networking






Judging Criteria


  1. Aligns with the theme: Evaluate how well the projects align with the theme of Tech for a Greener Tomorrow

  2. User Experience and Accessibility: Evaluate the project's overall user experience, including the layout,
    design, and ease of use. Consider whether the project is accessible to users with varying abilities, such as
    those with visual or hearing impairments, and whether it is user-friendly across different devices and
    screen sizes.

  3. Creativity and Innovation: Assess how creative and innovative the project is. Consider whether the students
    have developed unique features, used cutting-edge technology, or come up with new ways to approach the theme
    of Tech for a Greener Tomorrow.

  4. Scalability and Sustainability: Evaluate the project's potential for growth and long-term success. Consider
    whether the project can be expanded to reach more veterans, whether it can be easily updated with new
    resources or features, and whether it has the potential to generate ongoing user engagement.

  5. Presentation and Communication: Assess the team's ability to present their project effectively and
    communicate its purpose, features, and benefits. Consider how well the team has articulated the value of
    their project and demonstrated its relevance to the hackathon theme.
